About Studio Boissère

Established in 1951 by Varastade Kasparian, Studio Boissière is one of the oldest photographic studios in the Île-de-France region. Originally founded as a family-run business, the studio continues to preserve its legacy while adapting to the changing world of photography. Varastade Kasparian, who survived the Armenian Genocide, learned photography at the renowned Studio Harcourt before establishing the studio in Montreuil. His son, Roger Kasparian, known as «the eye of the Sixties,» played a significant role in shaping the studio’s reputation through his portraits of famous personalities. The studio remains active today, offering various photographic services, including professional photo sessions, darkroom workshops, and exhibitions. It also hosts cultural events such as art exhibitions, musical performances, and workshops aimed at emerging artists, particularly those from migrant backgrounds. Studio Boissière is committed to becoming a cultural hub in the evolving Montreuil neighborhood. It blends the traditional photographic business with artistic endeavors, aiming to foster community engagement through social and cultural initiatives. The studio’s ongoing mission is to preserve its rich heritage while contributing to the local creative landscape.
