REEM HASANIN ريم حسنين
(b. in 1999) Graduated with a DNA of La Villa Arson in 2023 Reem is currently working toward her Master degree at the same school. At 25 years old, she was born and raised in Nice. Coming from Egyptian immigrant parents, her work, which spans from non-places to imaginary scenes, interrogates themes of displacement in a migratory context, focusing on individuals from the diaspora and its impact on their descendants. Between intimate spaces and non-identity public spaces such as airports, she explores the tensions between rooting and uprooting, memory and erasure. Through photography, recovered family images, photo-montage, sculpture, installation, and poetry, she constructs visual narratives where reality and fiction intersect, creating hybrid spaces where notions of belonging and identity are reenacted.
